Injured Worker Physical Therapy Rehabilitation
Have you experienced an injury in the workplace?
We offer a comprehensive work injury rehabilitation program. Each patient receives a one-on-one functional capacity test and evaluation from our certified functional evaluator.
Our physical therapists create a customized treatment plan to achieve maximum recovery, support the injured worker to full functional capacity and strength, and return to the workplace.
What is the Worker’s Compensation Functional Capacity Test?
The functional capacity test (FCE) is a scientifically-developed, objective exam to measure a worker’s physical capabilities and tolerances, or a worker’s physical demand level (PDL).
It is a one-on-one, four-hour standard test that is peer-reviewed, validity-based, and legally-defensible in the field of occupational therapy.
The FCE compares an individual’s health status, body functions, and bodily structures to the demands of the job and the work environment. It evaluates a person’s ability to participate in and return to work.
The functional capacity test assesses the functional abilities of the worker to perform the spectrum of work tolerances that are related to the physical demands of the job. At Mangiarelli Rehabilitation, the FCE takes place in the clinic’s specialized work conditioning treatment room.
Ergonomic Consultations
An ergonomic consultation identifies injury risks in the workplace and aims to improve the safety, efficiency, and quality of movement of workers. We provide recommendations to employers & employees to reduce strain and improve work posture, productivity, and worker's comfort.
Our physical therapists evaluate each employee’s work habits to assess job techniques for safety and reduce risk of injury. We evaluate worker behaviors, body mechanics, a worker’s posture habits, and fitness-for-work issues.
Post-Job Offer Employment Screening
At Mangiarelli Rehabilitation, we offer post-job offer employment screenings that assess the prospective worker's physical preparedness for the demands of the job.
We provide recommendations if there are limitations that may impact the worker's safety or job performance. Such recommendations can include proper body mechanic instruction and targeted strengthening exercises to prepare the prospective worker for the demands of the job.
Physical Therapy for Work-Related Injuries
Our physical therapists work to develop, maintain, and restore daily function and employment-related normal movements in the injured worker, assisting the worker in regaining their prior functioning level.
The therapist crafts a customized treatment plan for the worker’s recovery based on their work-related needs and goals in our specialty industrial rehabilitation testing and treatment space.
